Drink Your Oats! Quaker To Launch Vegan Oat Milk In 2019

Consumers can add one more plant-based milk to their shopping list in the new year: oat milk from Quaker Oats!

According to a report in the New York Times, the grain giant that’s found a seat at the breakfast table in homes around the world is now ready to share shelf space with other dairy-free milks.

Quaker’s mass market vegan drink will be called “Quaker Oat Beverage,” and not milk/mylk – since there seems to be quite a furore over the use of the term milk for non-dairy drinks. (Almost entirely by the dairy lobby).

The beverage will make it’s supermarket debut in January 2019, and with distribution by Quaker’s parent company PepsiCo, it should be available at grocery stores big and small.

No details yet on when we’ll get to sample some in India, however. Quaker already has an oat and milk beverage (endorsed by Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar) in the market, but no non-dairy offerings as yet.

But considering the growing plant-based milk market, Quaker Oats Beverage may hit our shores sooner than we think!
