Get Ready For Vegan Avocado Beer!

If you thought avocados were passe and had their moment in the sun – think again. After toast, ice-cream and pudding, avocados are making their way into craft beer!

According to a report in the Evening Standard, The Long Arm Pub in Shoreditch, London, will serve Avocado Stout from the beginning of November. One pint of the brew will set you back by £5.50. (That's over 500 rupees!)

The 100% vegan beer, according to its makers, will have “the creamy flavour of avocado,” but without it’s pastel-green hue.

While beer is made from plant-based ingredients like hops, barley, malt and yeast, its processing isn’t vegan-friendly, since many manufacturers use isinglass (a substance extracted from the swim bladders of fish) as a fining agent.

London certainly seems to love the avocado - this beer comes on the heels of Avolato (vegan avocado ice cream) and Avo Bun burgers.
