The Concept of Gelatica came about in 2016, says the founder Mr Karthik, “I was looking to start a food business, and I tried some franchises but got rejected. Then decided to start our own ice-cream venture and immediately took off with a smaller machine, experimenting in house. Starting Gelatica from scratch, I had to go through multiple hardships like gaining knowledge, getting well versed with entrepreneurship and the new startup era. Then I shifted my focus to putting in all the learnt Theoretical Ice-cream science into work. Then came the time I attempted to monetize or bring in finances to make things work and visited almost all restaurants and cafes across Hyderabad to see if they would purchase my ice creams.”

When it started off, Gelatica was conceived as a B2B Brand, serving customized Ice creams to Popular Hoteliers & 5 Star Chains like Hyatt place Gachibowli, The Westin, The Park, Farzi cafe, and a few more premium places. With a line of low fat, vegan, clean label, and non-dairy ice creams, things were not at all easy; neither was it a bed of roses when Mr. Karthik Mangalampalli, founder of Gelatica, first started out. 

 

Nevertheless, despite rejection from people, banks for loans and huge competition, Mr. Karthik, the founder never gave up; rather he worked hard and came up with new and exciting flavors that the market had never seen before!
