New Vegan Ice Cream Debuts In Over 700 Walmart Stores

Mariah Carey’s producer and Grammy Award-winning artist Jermaine Dupri caught up with Rolling Stone about his new venture – not a new album but a new line of vegan ice cream. 

“A lot of people who are involved in the vegan brands are not vegan,” Dupri told Rolling Stone in November. “I felt it was important for somebody like myself to produce something.” 

Vegan for 20 years and the rapper has also worked for PETA in the past and has been actively supporting the ethical lifestyle. 

JD's Vegan has been in business, but on December 29th, Dupri couldn’t hide his excitement while officially announcing that his products will be featured in Walmart stores. He has been sharing posts about this for days.

Launching in over 736 Walmart’s the ice cream comes in 6 flavors - My way, Key Lime Pie, Strawberry Sweetheart, Peach Cobbler, Apple Butter, and Cookies & Cream.

The rich and creamy collection is dairy-free without any artificial flavors and is as satisfying as traditional ice creams as well.

The brand continues to expand in select cities like Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Miami and will add an additional 300 stores in the spring. The continued expansion of the brand makes healthy alternatives for frozen desserts more accessible to consumers across the nation, while simultaneously encouraging clean eating and guilt-free indulgence.

The full JD's Vegan portfolio of six flavors will be available in January for purchase at Walmart.com, jdsvegan.com, and Walmart locations across the U.S. 

Despite the pandemic challenges and to a certain extent due to increasing awareness of animal exploitation fuelled by the pandemic, Vegan brands have been growing more than ever.
