Bandung, the capital of Indonesia’s West Java Province, is one of the most popular destinations for Jakartans to escape to on weekends. Only 3 hours by train and four hours by car from Jakarta, the city offers a wide selection of shopping and dining places.

Although vegetarian is not the most popular lifestyle for Indonesians, some restaurants in Bandung cater to vegetarian and even vegan food. Here is a list in case you visit the city that hosted the first Asia-Africa Conference!

Kehidupan Tidak Pernah Berakhir

This is the biggest and the most economical vegetarian restaurant in Bandung. Located on the busy streets of Bandung, the restaurant is frequented by both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The restaurant’s layout is simple: lines of benches and desks are in the middle, with buffet bars are on the side. One food bar has 27 kinds of local dishes of vegetables and vegetarian “meat”, both Indonesian and Chinese, including some rich, crispy dishes like vegetable fritters and fried mushroom. There is also a live satay corner where diners can watch the attendant grill the satay.

What makes this restaurant a real draw is the price of the food. A plate of rice plus 4 kinds of any vegetables is only Rp 10,910 plus tax (about 59 Rupees). If a diner wants to have extra dishes then she/he needs to pay more.
