Actress Pamela Anderson is distributing 10,000 Methane Offset Starter Kits across British Columbia and the United states, in partnership with animal-rights social organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Methane Offset Kits are essential for reversing the environmental imbalance caused by greenhouse gases on a personal level. The actress will be distributing 10,000 vegan “ Starter Kits” to towns in the afflicted cities in British Columbia and United States wherein wildfires are presently blazing, resulting in massive evacuations of hundreds of thousands of wild animals.

The bundle includes greenhouse emissions balancing vegan food, including non dairy creamer, tofu, vegan dark chocolate, and vegan jerky, along with soy bean seeds and vegan starter recipes. The Starter Kits intends to introduce people to a more sustainable lifestyle, the one which Anderson has embraced in the past.

Anderson planned the idea of distributing the kits after going through the report published earlier this month by the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on weather change (IPCC). The report declares that an immediate sizable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions is the need of the hour, to avert a “Code Red for Humanity.” The report also concludes that human activity is responsible for growing temperatures, which has brought about extreme floods and droughts, rising sea levels, melting glaciers, and ongoing wildfires.

The IPCC additionally outlines the urgency with which humanity desires to reduce its greenhouse fuel emissions to control the planet’s warming. Although the IPCC report does not present many possible solution to counterbalance the effects of climate change. We can expect additional insights to be published in IPCC's two upcoming reports.

In the meantime, climate activists and experts believe that one solution to the climate crisis is to eliminate animal agriculture - which contributes to one-fourth share in total greenhouse gas emissions. As a major pollutants, Methane produced by factory farms not only polluted the environment, but also reduces the green cover. It has been estimated that 30 percent of the world’s land mass is used for animal agriculture and 33 percent of all cropland is used to grow food for those animals.

“Farmers must move away from animal agriculture, and governments must act, but until they do, we have to take personal responsibility to try to save the Earth and future generations—and going vegan is a great step in that direction,” quoted Pamela Anderson.

Pamela Anderson’s history of vegan activism

Over time, Anderson has been a distinguished activist for the vegan lifestyle. The Baywatch star has used her fame to speak up for animals-rights and vegan lifestyle on several instances: advocating for vegan meals to be served in prisons in Canada and the US; urging public figures which includes Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and former First lady Melania Trump to ditch animal products; and partnering with fashion brands to create vegan handbags and shoes.

As climate change becomes a raging issue, we stand at the crossroads, from where we can continue to exploit the environment and animals, deal with more zoonotic disease and make the planet more inhabitable over time or we can choose to heal the world and create a environmentally positive lifestyle for future generations wherein all life forms can thrive in harmony.
