Almost all plastics break down into tiny particles that have been found in oceans, rivers, bottled water, and even in the air we breathe.

Researchers even found microplastics in the umbilical cord blood of human babies recently.

Experts from Yale have documented how microplastics are affecting marine life. “What we have seen in marine environments is how microplastics can disrupt reproductive systems, stunt growth, diminish appetite, and cause tissue inflammation and liver damage,” according to Dr. Leigh Shemitz.
