Udaipur Based Mock Meat Company GoodDot Announces New Launch: The Vegicken Curry Kit

The Udaipur-based mock meat brand GoodDot made a new launch yesterday – the plant-based Vegicken Curry Kit.

Known for its meat substitutes such as VegBytz (mock mutton) and VegProteiz (mock fish), GoodDot is set to take over a whole new segment of alternative protein with this new chicken substitute.

The Vegicken Curry Kit will include a gravy mix and whole spices essential for a typical chicken curry. The curry takes about ten minutes to prepare and serves four. It is also rich in protein and dietary fibre and has zero cholesterol, as the brand uses grains and plant-protein to create meat alternatives. The aim of this new product is to give Indians the same traditional curry taste that has been part of the culture for ages.

GoodDot announced this launch on their LinkedIn yesterday and the Vegicken Curry Kit is now available on their website.

The Delhi government recently banned the sale of chicken in certain parts of the state as a precautionary measure against confirmed cases of bird flu in the national capital. This new plant-based launch can become a safer, healthier, and more ethical go-to during this time for those missing poultry products.

The alternative protein sector in India is growing rapidly with brands like Blue Tribe, Veggie Champ and Vezley coming up with newer products for the Indian palate. The food tech industry plays a major role in this area as technological advancements allow plant-based protein to look and taste like real meat. Moreover, health and environmental concerns are persuading more and more people to shift to plant-based alternatives for traditional animal products every day.
