Billie Eilish Partners With Nike For An Environment-Friendly Air Force 1 Shoe And Apparel Collection

Billie Eilish announced on her Instagram page that she’s collaborated with Nike yet again to reimagine one of their popular classics and also launched a line of apparel in her signature style.

The vegan singer often collaborates with brands to launch products that subtly lend a voice to issues of animal rights and the environment.

The Bad Boy singer has already launched two Air Jordans with Nike in 2021 – the green AJKO 1 and a light brown Air Jordan 15.

BILLIE REIMAGINES NIKE’S ICONIC AIR FORCE 1

Billie has redesigned the best-selling Air Force 1 with Nike in an attempt to “make it her own” she said on her Instagram page announcing the collaboration.

For this shoe, Eilish chose a synthetic nubuck material, which uses 80% recycled materials, for a super soft look and feel.

Her signature oversized style is emphasized through the shoe’s chunky midfoot straps, an element inspired by two other Nike classics, the Alpha Force Low and Air Trainer 3.

These straps cover the shoe’s laces and are finished with tabs that mirror the Nike Grind midsole. The full package is complete with a striking but simple tonal mushroom colour according to the release on the Nike News website.

Eilish’s ‘Blohsh’ logo is embossed on the lace locks and the cork insoles have a message imprinted in them which reads, “It’s hard to stop it once it starts” which are lyrics from her song Billie Bossa Nova.

She hasn’t stopped there. Billie has also added a line of mushroom coloured apparel to the collection featuring an oversized hoodie, t-shirt and sweatpants, very close to Eilish’s own signature style of dressing. The Nike swoosh has also been turned on it’s head on the apparel and appears to be standing up.

“The challenge and opportunity with this collection was to respect the originals, but make them my own,” says Eilish. “It was also important for me to mix in environmentally preferred materials where we could and present them in a way that felt fresh.”

The Nike Air Force 1 x Billie will be available on the Billie Eilish web store on 24^th April and on Nike’s official website globally on 25^th April, 2022.
